Rules, Terms and Conditions

Collingham & District Agricultural Society (CDAS) endeavour to provide a safe, friendly and fun event for participants and visitors. We expect anyone visiting the Show to conduct themselves with normal common sense, respect for others and have due regard for both their own safety and that of others around them in the full knowledge that they are visiting a working, agricultural show under the generally accepted definition of such an event.

CDAS’s Event Management Plan incorporates a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy which is monitored by the relevant authorities. A copy of the full Event Management Plan is available on the showground for inspection, on Show day. 

The following rules, terms and conditions apply

  1. There will be no vehicle movement on the Show site between the hours of 10am and 5.30pm, unless approved by the Event Manager and/or Health & Safety Chief Steward.
  2. No smoking is permitted in any of the Show marquees.
  3. All rubbish/waste is to be disposed of in the bins provided and dog waste bins.
  4. All dogs to be kept on leads.
  5. No alcohol is allowed to be taken onto the Showground. There will be a fully licensed bar at which alcohol can be purchased. Anyone attempting to bring alcohol onto the showground will be denied entry.
  6. CDAS reserves the right to cancel or change any event.
  7. All exhibits shown shall be the property of the exhibitor and have been in their possession at least three months previous to the time of showing; any member showing stock for competition contrary to this rule shall be disqualified from partaking of any prize in the class in which such stock is entered.
  8. Any objection to any exhibit must be made in writing to the Secretary before 2.30pm on the day of the Show, with a deposit of £5, which will be retained if, in the opinion of the Committee, such an objection is frivolous. The Committee formed to hear any objection shall consist of three CDAS members, who at the discretion of the Chairman, may be himself, the President, the Secretary or a Steward of the Section to which the dispute or objection relates.
  9. The judges shall have the power to withhold prizes in any class where the quality exhibited shall not be of sufficient merit to entitle them to a prize.
  10. All prize winning cattle must take part in the Grand Parade, otherwise their prize money shall be forfeited.
  11. No animals to leave the showground until after the Grand Parade. All other exhibits can leave the showground from 5pm, unless stated otherwise.
  12. All produce shown must be grown on land occupied by the exhibitor. Any exhibitor showing produce contrary to this rule shall be disqualified from partaking of any prize in the class and shall forfeit any prize money he may have been awarded in any class in the Show and shall be prohibited from exhibiting at any future Show.
  13. Any exhibit not present when judging of that class commences shall be disqualified.
  14. Cars are parked at the owner’s risk.
  15. Photographs and images of people and events taken at the Show may be used by CDAS for publicity purposes.
  16. All photographs on this website are copyright and should not be used without the express permission of CDAS.
  17. Photographers taking photographs at the Show should be mindful of who may be included in any picture taken. As this is a public area, we ask that photographers act responsibly and respect the privacy of others.
  18. CDAS will not accept any responsibility for the content contained on any of the websites that have links from this website.
  19. It is a CDAS requirement that all exhibitors will be asked to provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance Cover.
  20. CDAS and any associated stewards shall not be responsible for any accident, damage or loss, however caused, that may occur to any visitor or exhibitor or to any animal, article, or property brought onto the Showground or while entering or leaving or being carried onto or out of the said showground. Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any loss, injury or damage that may be done to or occasioned by or arising from any animal, article or property exhibited or brought onto the Showground by him. Each exhibitor shall indemnify and hold harmless CDAS from and against all actions, suits, expenses and claims on account of or in respect of any such damage or injury which may be caused or occasioned. It is therefore recommended that exhibitors insure against fire and such liabilities as the exhibitor may incur under the Show’s Rules, Terms and Conditions.
  21. All exhibitors and visitors entering the showground will be subject to the Rules, Terms and Conditions of CDAS and the Officers appointed by CDAS.
